Dr. Manrodt serves as a Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Georgia College. He has over 30 years in logistics, transportation and supply chain research. His degrees include a B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology, an M.S. in Logistics and a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee. His research projects have been funded by a wide range of participants in the supply chain, ranging from consulting firms, associations, carriers, software providers and shippers. Some of his clients include the U.S. Department of State, SMC3, Oracle, the State of Georgia, FedEx, CSCMP, WERC and Ernst & Young.

Dr. Manrodt served on the Board of Directors for the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals as well as other leadership roles with WERC. He is the co-author of eight books and has given over 150 presentations around the globe. He is an original researcher in the concept of Vested (also known as Vested Outsourcing), which was developed in conjunction with the University of Tennessee. This pioneering work has led to six books, four of which were co-authored by Dr. Manrodt. The latest book has been adopted by an international procurement association, which now offers courses based on its content.

Dr. Manrodt is the original lead researcher of the annual study of trends in logistics and transportation. The study examines key practices in the industry and is now in its 33rd year. Dr. Manrodt also leads the WERC survey on DC Metrics, now in its 21st year.
